Monitoring

The operational behavior of the Rooftop Building is being monitored and analyzed over the long term. This includes the collection of data about the indoor climate, occupant behavior, outdoor climate, the energy flows in the building services systems, and the conditions in the building envelope with regard to building physics, as well as the current operating conditions of the building automation.

Measurements of the following values are collected for the monitoring of the Rooftop Building:

Outdoor Climate

Solar radiation, outdoor temperature and humidity
Wind speed and direction

Building Envelope, Indoor Climate, and Occupant Behavior

Temperature and humidity of building components
Temperature and humidity of the rooms
Positions of the 14 adaptive facade elements
Degree of opening of the 7 sliding doors
Motion detectors, brightness

Building Technologies

Operating conditions of the reversible heat pump
Fluid temperatures and mass flow rates of the hydraulic loops
Temperatures in the hot water tank and thermal buffering tank
Electrical parameter of the PV system

The aggregation and recording of the monitoring data in the Rooftop Building is achieved by means of openEnergyMonitor-Systems.
